What is resilience? Webster’s dictionary describes it “as the ability to become strong, healthy, or successful again after something bad happens” We might have family problems, health problems, financial difficulties, school problems or workplace issues. Do any of these sound familiar to you? They sure sound familiar to me. We are all facing the stress of Covid-19 and the uncertainty of what’s ahead for us. This anxiety is real and can affect every aspect of our lives. What can we do to ease some of this anxiety? Here is one tip that I find useful to help me stay resilient during this stressful time.
Get enough sleep and exercise, and learn to manage stress. Try taking a walk when you feel overwhelmed. Being outside gives me a boost when stress is high. When you take care of your mind and body, you’re better able to cope effectively with all of the challenges you face in your life. We have to take care of ourselves first in order to take care of all the others in our lives.
