OAASIS Team Member
DCDAL is excited to announce a part-time opportunity for an outgoing current or former adult education student interested in providing outreach and support services to DCDAL students and participating in leadership development training. DCDAL is recruiting to fill its OAASIS Team Member position at our office located in Dover, Delaware. This position is funded and employed through OAASIS (Organization of Adult Alumni and Students in Service) which is a Delaware adult education organization. The job duties at DCDAL will include: contacting students via telephone and email to follow up on items such as inactivity, completion of a course, job searches, as well as assisting students using the DCDAL computer lab. Job will also include attending and assisting at student orientations and other student outreach events such as Family Literacy Day, Groves Annual Graduation and the GED Recognition Ceremony. This position will act as a peer mentor for students currently enrolled in the ABE, GED and Groves programs. Interested candidates must be 18 years of age or over, must to able to commit to working 13 hours a week at the DCDAL office in Dover, willing to attend monthly leadership training as required by OAASIS and attend offsite events.
*The terms of this opportunity include working at DCDAL for an average of 13 hours per week at a rate of $10.50 an hour. This is an annual contact position, continued employment is not guaranteed. Consideration for continued employment and terms of employment will be based upon performance, reapplication, and funding. A student may remain in this position for no more than three (3) years. An increase of $1 per hour will be granted in the second year of employment. An additional $1 per hour will be granted in the third year of employment. The individual chosen for the position must pass a criminal background check at their expense. Upon completion of 90 days of employment, this expense will be reimbursed by OAASIS.
