Important Notice:
Effective June 30, 2026, the Delaware Center for Distance Adult Learning (DCDAL) no longer offers Adult Basic Education (ABE) or GED preparation programs.**Please note that if you do not qualify for the James H. Groves High School Diploma Program based on previously earned credits and/or eligibility testing, you will be referred to another adult education provider for in-person ABE services.
How to Enroll
To enroll in the James H. Groves High School Program through DCDAL, you must register for an in-person orientation session at one of our locations throughout Delaware.
Registration Requirements
- Register for one orientation session only. Duplicate registrations will be removed, and your seat may be forfeited.
- Complete and submit your online orientation paperwork packet within one (1) week of registering.
- Pay the non-refundable $15 registration fee at the time of registration.
After Registration
- Based on your previous enrollments, test scores, or earned credits, you may qualify for a virtual orientation session and may be exempt from eligibility testing.
- If eligible, DCDAL will notify you using the email address provided during registration.
- Please monitor your email regularly for important updates and instructions.
Transcript Submission
To assist with determining program eligibility:
- Submit a scanned PDF copy of your transcript to transcripts@dcdal.org by July 17, 2026.
- Photos of transcripts will not be accepted.
- Transcript review may affect your eligibility for virtual orientation.
In-Person Orientation Requirements
If you are not eligible for a virtual orientation, you must attend the in-person orientation session for which you registered.
During the session, you will:
- Complete eligibility testing.
- Receive an overview of the program and student expectations.
- Meet with DCDAL staff.
Please plan for the session to last approximately 2–3 hours.

- Valid government-issued photo identification
Students Under 18 Years of Age
Students under the age of 18 must provide all of the following documentation before enrollment can be completed:
- Official transcript from the last school attended
- Official withdrawal form signed by both the school and parent/guardian
- Letter of recommendation from a staff or faculty member at the last school attended
Important: Students under 18 will not be permitted to enroll until all required documents have been received and approved.
Technology Requirements
To participate successfully in the DCDAL program:
- Students must have access to their own laptop or computer. DCDAL does not provide laptops or Chromebooks.
- Smartphones and tablets cannot be used to complete coursework.
- The MyDCDAL learning platform is not supported through the Moodle mobile application.

Orientation Session Registration

Registration Instructions
- Select 1 Registration Ticket.
- Click Register.
- Complete the registration information form.
- Submit your registration and payment.
Important: Once you have registered for an orientation session, you may not reschedule or transfer to another session. Please choose your date and time carefully.
