DCDAL is excited to announce a part-time opportunity for an outgoing current or former adult education student interested in providing outreach and support services to DCDAL students and participating in leadership development training. DCDAL is recruiting to fill its OAASIS Team Member position at our office located in Dover, Delaware. This position is funded and employed through OAASIS (Organization of Adult Alumni and Students in Service) which is a Delaware adult education organization.
The job duties at DCDAL will include, but are not limited to contacting students via telephone and email to follow up on items such as inactivity, completion of a course, job searches, appointment reminders, as well as assisting students with setting up tutoring and providing community and social service referrals. Responsibilities will also include attending and assisting at student orientations and other student outreach events such as Family Literacy Day and Groves Annual Graduation. This position will act as a peer mentor for students currently enrolled in the Groves program. Interested candidates must be 18 years of age or over, must to able to commit to working 12 hours a week at the DCDAL office in Dover, willing to attend monthly leadership training as required by OAASIS and attend offsite events.
